Guide to Electricity Bill Estimation in Malaysia

TNB uses a tiered domestic tariff system. The more electricity you use, the higher the rate for each additional block.

Domestic Tariff Blocks

• 0 - 200 kWh: 21.8 sen/kWh
• 201 - 300 kWh: 33.4 sen/kWh
• 301 - 600 kWh: 51.6 sen/kWh
• 601 - 900 kWh: 54.6 sen/kWh
• 901+ kWh: 57.1 sen/kWh

A minimum monthly charge of RM3.00 applies. Service tax of 8% is added to the bill.

Actual bills may also include ICPT, surcharge, rebate and other adjustments.
