How to use EPF Retirement Savings Projection

Project your EPF at retirement and compare the age-60 balance with KWSP's 2026 adequacy targets. Results are educational estimates, not official approval or advice.

  1. 1

Enter age, balance and contribution growth

Add current and retirement age, EPF balance, salary, contribution rate, salary growth and an assumed dividend rate.

  2. 2

    Read projected retirement balance

Separate current-balance growth from future contributions and compare the total with the displayed adequacy benchmark.

  3. 3

    Test conservative futures

Lower dividend or salary growth, change retirement age, or model contribution gaps to view a range of outcomes.

Before relying on the result

  • Future salary, contributions, inflation and EPF dividends are assumptions; verify current data in i-Akaun.
  • Notice the rate date and assumptions stated on the page.
  • Confirm important decisions with the relevant bank, employer, or authority.

Assumptions

  • Employee contribution defaults to 11%; employer is 13% for wages up to RM5,000, otherwise 12%.
  • Official wage-table bands are used up to RM20,000; wages above RM20,000 use the applicable percentage directly.
  • The expected annual dividend is your own assumption — actual EPF dividends vary each year and are not guaranteed.
  • Each year's dividend applies to the opening balance; that year's new contributions are added afterwards (a conservative simplification).
  • Excludes voluntary top-ups (i-Saraan, i-Akaun) and any withdrawals.
  • Retirement adequacy compares the projected age-60 balance with KWSP's 2026 RIA Basic, Adequate and Enhanced targets.
